Bonvoy

0.9¢ – 1.8¢Travel points & miles

Bonvoy points don't have a single set value — what they're worth depends entirely on how you redeem them. They stretch furthest on Free Nights — Off-Peak & Luxury at 1.4¢ per point, and as little as 0.4¢ when used for Gift Cards & Merchandise. All 5 redemption options are broken down below.

How your points redeem

Value per point varies by how you redeem. Best-value options first.

Free Nights — Off-Peak & Luxury
The best use — off-peak dates and high-end properties reach around 1.4¢ per point, and the 5th night is free on any 5-night points stay (a ~20% boost).

Airline Transfer
3:1 to airline miles plus a 5,000-mile bonus per 60,000 transferred — only worthwhile if you hit the bonus threshold; otherwise ~0.4¢.

Gift Cards & Merchandise
The poorest use — roughly 0.3–0.5¢ per point. Avoid.

About this program

Marriott Bonvoy is the loyalty program behind 30+ hotel brands (Marriott, Sheraton, Westin, St. Regis and more). You earn it directly on Bonvoy co-brand cards and can transfer in from Amex Membership Rewards (1,000 MR = 1,200 Bonvoy). Points are overwhelmingly best spent on hotel free nights — especially off-peak dates and luxury properties, where value climbs toward 1.4¢, and any 5-night points stay gets the 5th night free. Airline transfers (3:1) and gift cards are poor value and best avoided. Points expire after 24 months without qualifying activity.
